Installation Time Estimates
Installing a PowerShield Sentinel battery monitoring system is fast, safe and simple.

The Sentinel system makes use of hardware at every monoblock. Therefore the more blocks there are, the longer the installation will take.

PowerShield recommends allowing approximately two hours for installation of a single string of 30-35 blocks. To calculate total installation time: Multiply this by the number of strings and then the number of separate systems.

Conditions and recommendations:
Our installation estimate assumes that the monoblocks are located in an open rack, and already have terminal tags fitted. (We recommend doing this at the time of battery installation where possible). Allow additional time if the tags need to be fitted or if working in enclosed cabinets.

We also recommend keeping the monitoring as close to the batteries as possible. The longer the cable run, the longer the install.

Avoid excessive consolidation of battery systems - make use of a communications network for simplicity.

System configuration (Software)
System configuration should take on average 20 to 40 minutes if well installed and the appropriate information is available.

Requirements:
  • A laptop or PC
  • Input from the battery and equipment supplier, as well as customer network administrator, may be required.
